Under the brand Turconi from Mozzate, Lobardy, a number of very nice bicycles were produced. Several of them by famous artisans, just like our Turconi by Losa Classic Road Bike from around 1980.
The frame was made by nobody less than Giovanni - "Vanni" - Losa.
This frame builder lived in Vittuone - a small city close to Milan and about 30 km by bike from the Turconi shop. He manufactured exquisite bicycles, probably most famously the Cinelli Supercorsa from the 1990s to 2008.
Like other frame built by Losa, this Turconi illustrates refined triangular cutouts on the lugs and underneath the bottom bracket with a "V" shape to symbolise his nickname 'Vanni'. Also his second signature cutouts in teardrop shape are to be found Pep Turconi engravings complete the visual branding.
As for the tubes, this frame is made of light and sturdy Columbus SL tubes, the choice most frame builders back in the 1970s and 1980s made for professional level frames.
As for the parts we have a nice set of classic components the heart of which is formed by a Campagnolo Record shifting. A Cinelli Cockpit and a beautiful wheelset with rare Ambrosio rims complete this built.
