  • Manufacturer: Somec
  • Size: 54 cm
  • Eroica Approved Bicycle
  • Description:

SOcietà MECcanica was founded in 1973 by Oliviero Gallegati in Lugo di Romagna (Italy). Being a rather small manufacturer, Somec did not produce many bicycles, especially in the beginnings. Besides perfect craftsmanship they became famous in the 1980s for the use of advanced tubings, lugs and their special paintjobs. A fame which they nourished by their flamboyant and technically perfect bikes.

Our Somec Record is one of these fine masterpieces.
As for the tubing it is a rather usual Columbus tubing, the kind of which could be found on most professional bikes from the 1970s to the mid 1980s. A combination of low weight and high riding qualities.

Adding that little extra Somec spice, the chain stays, fork stays, headlugs and seatlug have been chromed. That chrome forms a perfect background for the exciting airbush-style paintjob in vivid fluo colours.

Which groupset would fit such a brilliant piece better than a Campagnolo one? Consequently a Campagnolo Super Record Gruppo is installed, turning our Somec into a dream machine.

Rare and gorgeous and a stunning ride on top!
