Schrøder Tidskørsel NOS Artisan TT Frame 1990
- Manufacturer: Schrøder
- Size: 58 cm
The history of Schrøder Cykler reaches back to the year 1920, when it was established as a bicycle shop in Copenhagen by Peter Schrøder.
They soon earned a reputation for being experts for racing machines and their inhouse-built bikes became popular among track and road cyclists alike.
Their fame spread and between 1930 and 1960 numerous European riders were equipped with Schrøder frames.
When in 1960 the shop was sold to Vilhelm Christian, who is still the current owner, the effort in building proper frames started to bring in victories in major international competitions. 1961 the first of many Danish track championships was won and a junior world championship.
The following years saw Olympic medals and world championships harvested on Schrøder bikes. So big was the success that in the early 1970s, Time Magazine named Vilhelm as one of the top ten frame builders in the world.
You can imagine that we are very happy to have our first Schrøder frameset in stock and that it is a new old stock one on top!
It must have been made around the year 1990 and shows a distinct time trial geometry with the rear triangle built for a 28" wheel and the fork for 26".
The seat tube is gently s-bent to bring the rear wheel in and the top tube swings down from the seatlug cluster in classic 'plongeant' style.
Not only has the frame been made made from one of the best tubesets of its time - Columbus SPX - it has also been expertly set up with an internal cable routing of both shifter and rear brake cables to improve aerodynamics. The routing is executed in the best possible way with metal guides running all the way through the frame - no fiddly cable change here!
The marvellous frame construction is covered by a classy paintjob in Danish red and white with the beautiful Schrøder decals.
The decals might be a bit timeworn, but if you ask Vilhelm Christian friendly, you might get a new original set as replacement.
A beautiful frameset, suitable to keep as it is or to complete it as a top class time trial machine.
