In 1939, four years after he set the world hour record, Guiseppe Olmo, nicknamed "Gepin", retired from a successful cycling carreer. Straight afterwards he set up a bicycle manufacture firm in Celle Ligure together with his brothers Franco, Giovanni and Michele. The traditional company is still in production today. During the years many excellent bikes have left Celle Ligure to win races all over the world.
One of their top models in the 1980s was the Olmo Leader.
