Molinari Cambio Corsa Collectible Road Bike 1940s
- Manufacturer: Molinari
- Size: 60 cm
A bicycle which truly comes from the golden age of cycling. Molinari was an Italian frame builder from Turin. This bike of his dates back to the late 1940s presumably 1949 and is still very much in its original condition. Therefore we kept it as authentic as it possible!
The frame is a real masterpiece of years long gone by. It is likely made of Falck steel tubes which are joint into chromed lugs to the head tube, and filled brazed the seat tube. Just have a look at this great petrol paintjob and the beautiful internal cable routing!
Beside the frame, the highlight of this Molinari is certainly the iconic "Campagnolo Cambio Corsa" gear. This rod-operated powerhouse secured Gino Bartali's second Tour de France victory. One of its major strength was the perfect chain tension and reliable operation in rough conditions with mud, gravel and pavé.
Since the two lever method could be confusing sometimes, it was transformed into the Paris-Roubaix shifting with one lever and a bit later then, the downtube lever operated parallelogram derailleurs had their final brake through.
Not only the gear, but also the Universal brakes, stem, handlebar and rims, and Sheffield pedals are original components from that era. And of course, some of the best of their time! On top there is the small front mudguard.
An about 70 years old bicycle in such nice condition. Definitely the right choice for classic bicycle collectors!»See Details
