In Saint Étienne, the cradle of French bicycle production existed a dense complex of cycling componentry workshops.
One of these companies was Sifem.
Though the Société Industrielle de Fabrication Et Montage also produced single components, they became probably most famous for building the Luis Ocana branded bikes.
Cashing in on the name of the famous Tour de France winner must have been a really clever move, considering they were able to run the brand through the 1970s and 1980s.
Our Luis Ocana Sifem has a frame which consists of double butted Vitus tubing and is constructed in a rather traditional way.
The groupset is more avant-garde. It is one of Shimano's aerodynamic ax-gruppos, which were introduced in 1979.
The Adamas ax on our bike is still in nice condition and lends it some additional 1980s flavour.
Used. The bike is in good condition. The frame has no cracks, no dents and is not bent. Paintwork and decals are original. All parts have been checked and are working fine.
