One of the most famous and prestigious Italian brands when it comes to classic road bikes is, without any doubt, Gios Torino.
Everybody instinctively recognizes their bikes by the typical Gios-blue colour. And many of us remember their fabulous triumphs with the Team Brooklyn.
But few people are aware of the fact that Gios bikes have not always been blue. Before the Team Brooklyn times, in fact, a very typical colour for Gios was a bright orange! Just the colour our Early Gios Torino from the 1950s sports.
Our Gios is a nicely restored piece which dates back to approximately 1959-1961. The avant-garde frame is equipped with the best parts you could get back in the day. The Campagnolo groupset consists of what the then new Record class offered. Shifting and Brakes were introduced later. So for the shifting we find a Campagnolo Gran Sport here and for the brakes a Set of Universal Extras.
This machine is really rather rare and special. A piece from the era of Tolmino Gios, when giants of frame building worked for Gios, the Giamé brothers and Giuseppe Pelà, just to name a few.
A rideable bike? - Sure, give it a try.
A collectible piece? - Heck yes!
Used. The bike is in very good condition. The frame has no dents, no cracks and is not bent. The paint has been refurbished. All parts are working fine.
