Francesco Moser, one of the most winning riders ever, started producing bikes under his name in the late 1970s.
He had already chosen Ugo De Rosa as the builder for his professional frames. So he made a similar choice and asked Ugo for his help when he decided to set up his own factory.
In 1977, Mr. De Rosa, "The Master" – In the 1974 Giro d'Italia, an estimated 80% of all riders in the peloton rode on bikes which were built by De Rosa – helped Francesco Moser to transform the small workshop of his brother Aldo into a high end frame manufacture and trained other frame builders. Two years later, Eddy Merckx followed this example and chose a similar route for the setup of his manufacture.
Our Early Francesco Moser road bike dates back to 1978 and is exactly one of those early, rare and superb bicycles manufactured under the watchful eyes of De Rosa.
Made of light and sturdy Columbus SL tubes, this bike still is in sweet condition and still has the original paintwork.
Regarding the components, this F.Moser is equipped with a great performing and iconic Campagnolo Super Record parts from the 1970s.
Completely serviced in our workshop, the bike is now ready to go.
An beautiful piece of cycling history. Very rideable and scarce at the same time, therefore a perfect choice to participate in Eroica events.
