Since 2012, Steel Vintage Bikes has carefully selected the most exclusive road bicycles to take part in Eroica events.
We are proud to be a global sponsor of Eroica and strive to provide only the best bicycles for anyone wishing to complete these events. Having a close relationship with our reliable suppliers, we are able to source only the best examples of classic bikes, frames and components.
Every bike we display has been vetted before being serviced and restored with brand new cables, tyres and other components that may need the help of an expert. This means they feel exactly how they were meant to when designed by the craftsmen of the past. Any bicycle purchased from us has been looked after by our skilled team in the workshop to make sure you enjoy every mile.
For Eroica events, the bicycle must be heroic. It is essentially a steel-framed road bicycle built before 1987 with the following characteristics:
- - down-tube shifters
- - pedals with cages and clips
- - low-profile rims with least 32 spokes
- - external brake cables
Eroica has introduced some exceptions for aluminium frames with screwed or glued lugs from Alan and Vitus, and all newly manufactured steel frames with vintage look. Pre-1980 non indexed bar-end shifters are also allowed.
All the bicycles displayed in this section are approved to participate in all Eroica events worldwide.
