Description: A frameset which is as neat as it gets when old track bikes are involved.
The Cinelli S.C. is certainly one of the most legendary racing bicycles ever.
Cino Cinelli was one of the most influential figures when it comes to bicycle and component design in the second half of the 20th century.
When the former cycling ace started to develop his own parts and frames, he soon gained a reputation for being a master of industrial design. Numerous medals, titles and championships have been won, using his models.
In the 1960s Cinelli equipped several Olympic teams with track bikes, which gave the Pista section of his manufacture the aura of making the best machines possible.
The fact that Cino insisted on building frames strictly inhouse thus limiting the production scales significantly, only added to the impression the Cinelli bikes being the 'Rolls Royce of sports bicycles'.
Our track bike stems from 1974 era, when Cinelli Cockpits were ubiquitous on top class racing machines around the world, and his track bikes were to be seen in important competitions around the world.
This Cinelli Supercorsa Pista frameset is a bit more special due to the excellent condition in which it is. In fact, the condition is so good, that it has likely never seen a velodrome track. It was obviously built up as a complete bike before but other than clamping traces of the wheels on the dropouts, the frame is pretty much immaculate.
Definitely the best preserved 1970s Cinelli we have seen so far and a great collector's item. »See Details
