Peugeot

Peugeot was one of those early bicycle manufacturers which grew big and succsessful during the 20th century. Their first bike was already built as early as 1882. And their reputation grew partly to their racing activities. Peugeot sponsored victorious racing squads and cyclists from 1903 until 1983.

In this time they managed to win the tour de france 10 times and countless championships, classics and one day races. Who has not seen the pictures of Tom Simpson and Eddy Merckx, winning the World Championships 1965 and 1967 on a Peugeot?

Being one of the largest bicycle producers in Europe, their range was by no means limited to racing bikes. They offered the full range including sports tourers, town bikes and, of course, racing bikes.
