Description: Fausto Bertoglio was the big surprise of the cycling season of 1975. The youngster who had learned its part during two years as a gregorio in the Brooklyn team, had a very strong year while riding for Jolly Cheramiche. The Giro d'Italia of '75 was a brutal one with so many climbs that Francesco Moser claimed it would be an unfair course towards heavier riders and refused to take part in it.
Fausto Bertoglio did not only manage to gain a small margin over his competitors before the decisive stage, he also managed to hold it with a strong performance on the slopes of the Stelvio. This powerful ride secured his first place in the general classification, distancing the strong Felice Gimondi on place 3 by more than 6 minutes.
After his retirement in 1980, he opened a bike shop near his hometown Brescia which he is still running together with his son.
The Shopbrand's F.Bertoglio bikes proudly stated his victory of 1975 on them. Just like our F.Bertoglio Competition from the 1980s does.
The bike is a high class professional racer painted in the Italian colours. Details like the chromed stays and an internally routed rear braking cable give away that this is a machine which was carefully designed and thought through.
Therefore it is not surprising that Campagnolo's top class groupset, the Campagnolo Super Record is installed on it. A groupset as legendary as Bertoglio's triumph.
The bike has been checked and is perfectly fit for vintage cycling events like L'Eroica. »See Details
